U.S. Navy Pilot Killed in Jet Crash

From Associated Press

A U.S. Navy pilot was killed when the jet fighter he was flying crashed into a mountain during a training flight out of Subic Bay Naval Base, the Navy said Thursday.

A statement identified the pilot as Lt. (j.g.) Richard E. Armbruster, 28, a native of Cedar City, Utah.

The statement said search teams found the wreckage of Armbruster’s A-4E Skyhawk aircraft on Wednesday, one day after it failed to return to Subic’s Cubi Point Naval Air Station.
