BONN — West German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher was reported “in good shape” today after suffering a minor heart attack.
The heart attack did not endanger Genscher’s life, Foreign Ministry spokesman Juergen Chrobog said today after visiting Genscher briefly at the intensive-care ward of a Bonn hospital.
Genscher, 62, was hospitalized Thursday after complaining of chest pains. Genscher, who has been Bonn’s foreign minister since 1974, had his first heart attack 12 years ago.
