McDonald’s Corp.: The Oakbrook, Ill., company said second-quarter profit was up 10.6% to almost $196 million. Sales were $4.3 billion, up 4.9% from the same period a year ago. The firm noted that this was the 97th-consecutive quarter of record operating results. It credited expansion of its chain of fast-food restaurants for the gains in sales and earnings.
