Cardinal Krol Undergoes Tests; Condition Serious

PHILADELPHIA — Cardinal John Krol was in serious condition and undergoing medical tests Friday a day after he complained of feeling faint while playing golf, hospital officials said. Krol, 78, retired last year as Roman Catholic archbishop of Philadelphia, but retains the title of cardinal. He has remained active as a financial consultant to the church.
