Truck Carrying Explosives Overturns; 20 Evacuated

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. —
A truck carrying an explosive used in fireworks and ammunition overturned Saturday in downtown Parkersburg, forcing the evacuation of 20 people and shutting down a bridge and traffic on part of the Ohio River for five hours. The 41,000 pounds of pentolite shifted as the driver made a sharp turn, a fire official said.
