Verdict Against Hunts Intact: U.S. District Judge Morris Lasker refused to throw out a $132-million verdict against the Hunt brothers for trying to corner the world silver market in 1979-80. Nelson Bunker, William Herbert and Lamar Hunt and two other defendants were found guilty by a Manhattan federal jury last year for their role in the scheme. Since the verdict in August, 1988, Lamar has settled his part of the case. The remaining defendants challenged the verdict, claiming that there was insufficient evidence to support the finding.
