A San Diego County sheriff’s deputy was charged Tuesday with one count of child molestation.
Anthony Martin Bier, 28, who lives in East County, appeared in San Diego Municipal Court, but his arraignment was delayed until Aug. 7 so he can hire an attorney. Deputy Dist. Atty. Harry Elias said the incident in May involved a girl under 14.
The investigating agency was the Sheriff’s Department, where Bier had reportedly worked for five years.
Bier waived his right to be arraigned Tuesday, and Judge John Thompson allowed him to remain free on his own recognizance.
