USC President James H. Zumberge announced Tuesday that the university raised $102.6 million in cash gifts in the past year, setting a record for the Los Angeles school.
The donations provided a major boost to USC’s campaign to raise $557 million by next year. So far, more than $504.3 million has been given or promised, Zumberge said.
The campaign is financing several new structures that are expected to be dedicated this fall, including a neuroscience building, a student center and a law center addition. The gifts also have funded 29 chairs and professorships and 15 endowed research funds, as well as scholarships, officials said.
