Hershiser is president of the fund.

Recipients of $500 scholarships were: Mariano Aranda and Carmen Gonzalez, Garfield High School; Martin Hernandez and Lilia Sanchez, Lincoln High School; Geoffrey Heredia and Michelle Vilar, San Marino High School (which James Patrick Jarrin attended), and Arcelia Gomez and Martin Romero, Wilson High School.
