Brant Takes First in Speedway Racing

Scott Brant of Riverside won the four-lap scratch main event in the weekly speedway motorcycle program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa in front of 2,413 Friday.

Alan Christian of Murrieta was second, Phil Collins of Newport Beach was third, Steve Lucero of Riverside was fourth. In the handicap eight-lap main event, Mark Hannah of Sunset Beach was the winner.
