Radio personality “Superfan” (Ed Bieler) will definitely return to KABC-AM where he was heard in the mid ‘70s to host a sports show, station manager George Green said Tuesday. Though no specific start date has been set, Bieler--who spent time in federal prison in 1974 for filing false claims while under government contract--will host a three- or four-hour show after baseball season, Green said, most likely from 6-9 p.m. The station’s troubled “Wink and Bill Show” (which airs from 3-6 p.m.) is being closely watched, Green said, and if ratings don’t improve that afternoon slot may see a change in hosts. KABC has recently undergone several changes in hosts and program times.
