Datum Inc. announced earnings of $327,000 for the second quarter, an increase of 18% from the $278,000 reported for the like period last year. Sales for the quarter rose 24%, to $9.2 million from $7.4 million. For the six-month period, earnings declined 18%, to $540,000 from the $660,000 posted for the first half of 1988. Sales increased 28%, to $17.7 million from $13.8 million. Datum, based in Anaheim, manufactures precision frequency products and timing instrumentation for military, industrial, space and commercial applications.
