Montebello : Glasman Seeks Reelection
Montebello City Councilman Arnold Glasman has announced that he is running for reelection despite rumors that he planned to seek higher office, possibly a state Assembly seat.
“Right now I’m running for City Council,” Glasman said last week. “I’ll let those who want to speculate do so. I have a campaign to go forward with, and that is my sole focus.”
Glasman, elected in 1985, supported ballot measures that would have granted the Montebello Redevelopment Agency power of eminent domain in two industrial/commercial areas. Voters rejected the measures in May.
In the November election, Glasman will face at least three foes of the redevelopment proposals: incumbent Edward Pizzorno, community activist Shirley Garcia and former Councilman Bill Molinari.
