Federal prosecutors in Salt Lake City charged three more University of Utah football players and a former member of the Ute varsity with distribution of cocaine and conspiracy to distribute the drug.

The suspects are former tight end Clyde French, 23, of Carson, Calif.; offensive tackle Sean Henderson, 20, of Clovis, Calif.; linebacker Errol Martin, 21, of Oakville, Canada, and wide receiver Cedric Riles, 21, of Riverside, Calif.

Federal prosecutor Heather Nelson said the four will be arraigned today before a U.S. magistrate. Riles faces nine drug counts, Martin four counts, and French and Henderson two counts each. They were being held in the Salt Lake County Jail.

Last summer, Utah fullback Martel Black, 20, of National City, Calif., and Ute wide receiver Darren Hughes, 22, of Lynwood, Calif., were among six people arrested in a cocaine bust.

Black, Utah’s leading 1987 rusher, was sentenced to six years in prison on his guilty plea and Hughes to three years’ probation on minor cocaine allegations.

Utah Coach Jim Fassel said Henderson, Martin and Riles all have been suspended “pending the outcome of the criminal charges.”
