Poway
Skeletal remains believed to be those of a man were retrieved from Sycamore Canyon County Park in Poway, authorities said Wednesday.
Sheriff’s deputies located scattered human bones about 6 p.m. Tuesday in brush-covered terrain south of Poway Road and west of Sycamore Park Drive, Sgt. Manny Castillo said, adding that clothes and personal belongings were found near the remains.
Castillo said the remains were discovered Sunday by a motorcyclist who did not report the finding until Tuesday.
The coroner is attempting to identify the remains.
