San Diego attorney Philip D. Sharp was appointed by Gov. George Deukmejian on Wednesday to fill a newly created post on the San Diego County Superior Court Bench. Sharp, 49, is Deukmejian’s seventh San Diego County judicial appointment in two days.

Sharp has worked in San Diego since 1970 and has been a partner with Shifflet, Sharp & Walters since 1982. He was graduated from the Washington & Lee University law school in 1964.

Superior Court judges make $89,851 a year.
