Two Palestinians hurled firebombs at a car carrying Israeli tax collectors in the Israeli-occupied West Bank town of Ramallah, the army said. Two men in the front seat suffered burns over 40% to 60% of their bodies, a spokeswoman for Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem said. A man and a woman in the back seat were slightly injured. Israel Radio said the radical group Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement issued in Amman, Jordan. The group has no known ties to kidnapers in Lebanon who use the same name.
