Vons Investor Sells Some Shares: Investment Limited Partnership, a longtime investor in Vons Cos., said it cut its stake in the El Monte supermarket company to 4.6% of Vons’ 38.7 million shares, from about 7.3%. The Greenwich, Conn.-based investment firm said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it has sold more than 1 million shares at prices ranging from $18.83 to $21.20 and now holds about 1.8 million shares. Michael F. Henn, chief financial officer of Vons, said some investors have been selling shares to profit from the recent run-up in Vons’ share price. Richard E. Rainwater, a former adviser to the Bass brothers of Texas, is a general partner of Investment Limited Partnership.
