Three Judges to Hear North Appeal Feb. 6
Oliver L. North’s appeal of his convictions in the Iran-Contra scandal will be heard Feb. 6 before a three-member panel of judges.
Reviewing the North case will be U.S. Court of Appeals judges Abner Mikva, Laurence Silberman and David Sentelle, according to a notice issued by the court.
Mikva is a Jimmy Carter Administration appointee, while Silberman and Sentelle were appointed during the Ronald Reagan Administration.
North was convicted May 4 of aiding and abetting an obstruction of Congress, destruction of National Security Council documents and accepting an illegal gratuity.
He was fined $150,000, given two years probation and ordered to serve 1,200 hours of community service.
