The Carnegie Deli is not a “new breed of restaurant,” as Ruth Reichl’s article would have us believe (“L.A. Reinvents the Deli,” Aug. 6). It is nothing more than another one of those Hollywood-type places where people go not for the quality of the food or the surroundings but because it’s the in place , for the moment.
