The Kirov Ballet has announced casting changes...
The Kirov Ballet has announced casting changes for performances of “Le Corsaire,” Tuesday through Thursday, at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa. The new casts, which also are subject to change, resulted from the return of principals Altynai Assylmuratova and Konstantin Zalkinsky to the Soviet Union to be with Assylmuratova’s mother, a cancer patient.
The changes in the 8 p.m. programs:
-- Tuesday: Tatiana Terekhova will be Medora, Vitali Tsvetkov will be Lankedem.
-- Wednesday: Yulia Makhalina (Medora), Igor Petrov (Lankedem), Farukh Ruzimatov (Ali).
-- Thursday: Terekhova (Medora), Tsvetkov (Lankedem), Kiril Melnikov (Ali).
All other principals in the three casts will be as originally announced.
