Anaheim : Buddy Ebsen Becomes an Honorary Citizen

Share

Actor Buddy Ebsen became an honorary citizen of Anaheim and Orange County at Wednesday’s Anaheim City Council meeting, and he jokingly declared that the certificate “will allow me to get parking tickets fixed in Orange County.”

Anaheim Mayor Fred Hunter and Supervisor Don R. Roth, whose district includes Anaheim, presented Ebsen with the awards in honor of his 60 years as an actor, dancer and songwriter.

“This is overwhelming,” said Ebsen, who is perhaps best-known for his role as Jed Clampett on the television comedy “The Beverly Hillbillies.”

“I never expected to get any kind of award for having a lifetime of fun,” Ebsen said.

Earlier in the day, Ebsen’s footprints and handprints were embedded in cement at Movieland Wax Museum in Buena Park.
