Los Angeles entertainment executive Jose E. Menendez and his wife died from "multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body," the Los Angeles County coroner's office reported on Wednesday following autopsies on both bodies.
The spokesman for the coroner, Bob Dambacher, said that no more information could be released because Beverly Hills police, in charge of the investigation, do not want the autopsy report to be made public.
"If we have an active investigation going, we keep the details to ourselves because you never know when details could jeopardize the investigation," said Beverly Hills Police Department spokesman Lt. Robert Curtis. Beverly Hills police have not commented on any aspect of the apparent double homicide.
Menendez, 45, chief executive and board chairman of Van Nuys-based LIVE Entertainment Inc., and his wife, Mary Louise, 44, were found shot to death Sunday evening in their Beverly Hills home by their two sons, who had been out for the evening.
--- UNPUBLISHED NOTE ---
Mary Louise (Kitty) Menendez was 47 when she died, not 44.
