Share

Australian environmentalist Bill Mollison, originator of Permaculture, an ecological design system, will speak Saturday at TreePeople, 12601 Mulholland Drive.

Mollison defines Permaculture (for permanent agriculture) as the design of human habitation around environmental principles with the emphasis on sustainable living.

He developed his ideas while working as a wildlife survey officer in Australia, and founded the Permaculture Institute in New South Wales, Australia, which has sponsored projects around the world. He will discuss ways of creating contemporary cities, homes and gardens that are environmentally balanced.
