Jerome W. Cwiertnia has been elected president, chief operating officer and a director of National Education Corp., Irvine. He fills positions that became vacant when H. David Bright resigned as chairman, president and chief operating officer earlier this month. Cwiertnia had served as president of the company until March, when he resigned to seek a position as chief operating officer. In addition, Kenneth Riedlinger, president and chief executive of National Education’s Applied Learning subsidiary, has also been named a director. National Education operates vocational schools and training programs throughout the country.
