Second-Quarter GNP Estimate to Rise: The government is expected to raise substantially its estimate of economic growth between April and June. The Commerce Department Tuesday will revise its second-quarter gross national product, measuring the output of goods and services. The revision is likely to show that the economy grew at a 2.5% annual rate in the second quarter, faster than the 1.7% estimated on July 27. Stronger consumer spending and a sharply lower trade deficit in June should offset a downward revision in business inventories to boost the GNP, analysts said.
