Blyleven Named Angel of the Week

Bert Blyleven, who shut out the Kansas City Royals, 5-0, Thursday night, is The Times’ Orange County Edition Angel of the Week. The victory, which improved Blyleven’s record to 14-2, ended a three-game Angel losing streak.

It was the 59th shutout of Blyleven’s career, placing him ninth on the all-time list.

The Times will donate $200 in Blyleven’s name to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Orange County.
