Thirteen people, including 10 children, were injured Monday when two cars collided in Sun Valley, Los Angles fire officials said. Only two of the victims, a man in one car and a woman in the other, were seriously injured.

The third adult and all 10 children, ages 4 to 12, were treated at the scene for minor injuries. The children were taken to area hospitals with the adults because they had no way to return home, Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells said.

The cars collided about 5:20 p.m. on Glenoaks Boulevard near Sheldon Street in a sparsely populated industrial area. One car was carrying two adults and eight children; the other was carrying one adult and two children, Wells said.
