Arts and entertainment reports from The Times, national and international news services and the nation's press

“Batman” will definitely come to video stores in November, the shortest time ever between the theatrical and video release of a major movie.

John Quinn, Warner Home Video’s vice president of sales, has sent a letter to distributors that states: “By popular demand, ‘Batman,’ the highest-grossing movie blockbuster of the year and the top box-office success in Warner Bros. history, will debut on videocassette Nov. 15.” The tape will sell for $24.98.

“Batman” will be “tied in with . . . Diet Coke,” though the letter did not confirm reports that there would be an ad on the tape.
