An unidentified 14-year-old girl was treated and released after lightning struck near her during halftime. She was was able to leave the stadium on her own, Purdue campus police said.

ESPN, which was broadcasting the game, incorrectly reported that a second spectator had been struck by lightning, police said. The second person, who also was not identified, was taken to a local hospital for a physical problem unrelated to the weather, the Purdue sports information office said.
