Two San Fernando Valley men were shot to death during a financial dispute at a junkyard near Moorpark, and the owner of the business has been charged in the deaths, authorities said Wednesday.

The Ventura County coroner’s office identified the victims as David Martin Enslow, 56, of San Fernando and William Schaible, 35, of North Hollywood.

The men died Tuesday night at the junkyard. Each had been shot once in the upper body, said Ventura County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Harwell.

Edwin Jay Olin, 47, of Thousand Oaks was charged Wednesday with two counts of murder. He was being held in the Ventura County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.

A second man, Phillip Shiver, 52, of Box Canyon, was charged with interfering with a police investigation and released.

Harwell said the victims were among five men who went to the wrecking and storage operation in the 10000 block of Stockton Road to discuss what Harwell described as Olin’s business debts.

Harwell said Olin and his wife sometimes stayed in a trailer on the property, which is in a remote area, because of a problem with thefts. The couple was there Tuesday night when the five men arrived. Details about what led up to the shooting were not available.

One of the five called police after the 9:55 p.m. shooting.
