Plans for a $35.5 million sports complex at San Diego State were approved Wednesday by the California State Unviersity Board of Trustees.

Ground breaking for the 12,000-seat facility, which will give SDSU an on-campus arena for its men’s basketball team, is scheduled for September, 1990. It is expected to be completed by late 1992.

The complex, to be run by SDSU’s Associated Students, will be paid for through increases in student activities fees.
