* Lothrop Worth, considered by many to be the father of the 3-D film craze of the ‘50s, has made a gift of property valued at more than $700,000 to the Motion Picture and Television Fund. He is now a resident of the Motion Picture and Television Country House. He and his late wife, Jean, had been supporters since the fund’s inception, and the couple donated their home in Brentwood to the fund. The Motion Picture and Television Fund, founded in 1921, provides medical care and social services to members of the film and television industry.

* Vital Options’ “SOHO Day in Los Angeles” artwalk held on Aug. 20 at the Sante Fe Art Colony in downtown Los Angeles netted $4,500. Proceeds will be used to continue psychosocial support for young adults with cancer.

* The West Hollywood Fundraisers held their 10th Annual Labor Day Parking Lot Sale Sept. 2, 3 and 4 and netted $82,000. The funds will be equally distributed to Van Ness Recovery House, Friendly House and the West Hollywood Drug and Alcohol Center. The three facilities aid in the recovery of alcohol and drug addiction. To date, the group has raised and distributed a total of $600,000 to various charities. The West Hollywood Fundraisers was founded by furniture designer Bruce Eicher and is a group of men and women who volunteer their time and energy in support of various charities, organizations and causes.

* The ICAN ASSOCIATES Celebrity Polo Match and Silent Auction held Aug. 13 at the Santa Barbara Polo Club netted $29,000. Proceeds will be used to continue working with abused and neglected children. Greg Ullman was chair.
