Three Colombian natives were arrested this week in Santa Ana and agents of the state’s Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement seized two kilograms of cocaine and about $33,000 in cash.

The bureau, along with Santa Ana Police Department narcotics detectives, arrested Olga Amparo Uribe, 34, and Jairo Alonso Perez, 33, on suspicion of possessing cocaine for sale.

Investigators seized two kilograms of cocaine, worth an estimated $250,000, and $33,000 in cash at Perez’s residence at 3700 Plaza Drive, state special agent supervisor Benny Rincon said. Uribe did not give her address but has lived in the area for about five years, Rincon said.

The investigation also led to the arrest of Julio Cesar Herrera, 30, on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon. The suspect, a Colombian native who lives at 4250 1st St., was found with a .25-caliber pistol and a martial arts weapon, Rincon said.

The arrests, according to Rincon, were part of a monthlong investigation that has led to the arrest of 10 suspects in the Los Angeles area and the seizure of $800,000 in cash and four kilograms of cocaine.

Herrera was being held at Orange County Jail, and Uribe and Perez were at Whittier City Jail. They are scheduled to be arraigned today, Rincon said.
