Supervisor Hahn Out of Hospital

Los Angeles County Supervisor Kenneth Hahn was released Monday from Daniel Freeman Hospital in Inglewood where he had been admitted a week ago for treatment of bronchitis.

“He’s doing fine and resting comfortably at home,” said Lynn Sakamoto, a spokeswoman for the veteran supervisor. “He’s expected to attend next week’s (Board of Supervisors) meeting.”

Hahn, 69, has been weakened by a series of ailments--including a stroke--in the last two years, but he was elected to a record 10th term last year despite concerns about his health. Of 58 board meetings this year, the meeting today will be the 16th he has missed.

He was hospitalized last week for what hospital officials called treatment of an upper respiratory infection. Sakamoto said the illness, which had failed to respond to outpatient treatment, was eventually diagnosed as bronchitis.
