Chargers Sign Punter Ilesic

The Chargers signed free-agent punter Hank Ilesic and released punter Lewis Colbert Tuesday.

During 13 years with the Canadian Football League, Ilesic averaged 45.4 yards on 1,573 punts in 190 games. His longest punt was 90 yards.

With the Toronto Argos, Ilesic averaged 44.0 on 142 punts, including a long of 77 yards in 1988. Ilesic holds CFL records for number of punts (165) and punting yards (8,004) in a single season. Ilesic punted his first six seasons for the Edmonton Eskimos.

Colbert averaged 33.3 yards on eight punts with a net of 27.9 yards.

UC San Diego defeated host Point Loma Nazarene College, 15-5, 15-10, 12-15, 15-8. UCSD (7-5) was led by senior outside hitter Diana Klintworth, who had 14 kills. Roberta Silva had 24 digs for Point Loma Nazarene College (6-1).
