South Coast Repertory is one of seven theaters--and one of only two outside of New York--to snag a chunk of the $300,000 that will be provided for the production of six new plays as part of AT&T;’s “New Plays for the ‘90s Project.” The Costa Mesa theater will receive $50,000 for its staging of Howard Korder’s “Search and Destroy,” scheduled to open Jan. 12. The winning entries were selected from proposals submitted by 35 theaters.
