Angela Lansbury rediscovers the love she felt for a young American during World War II in ABC’s upcoming “The Shell Seekers,” based on Rosamunde Pilcher’s best-selling novel. The “Hallmark Hall of Fame” presentation shot in England co-stars Irene Worth and Sam Wanamaker.

“After the War,” a 10-part PBS miniseries, follows the lives and careers of two Jewish schoolboys, played by Adrian Lukis and Robert Reynolds, in the years after World War II. The program is tentatively scheduled to air on KCET in January.

“Elayne Boosler: Top Tomata,” the third Showtime comedy special featuring the stand-up comedienne, will be telecast from the Music Hall in Omaha, Neb., at 10 p.m. Saturday. The hourlong show kicks off a month of special comedy presentations on the cable TV network.

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s “Superboy,” back for its second season of syndicated heroics beginning Thursday at 9:30 p.m. Gerard Christopher replaces John Haymes Newton in the title role of the half-hour adventure, which KNBC Channel 4 airs regularly at 7:30 p.m. Saturdays.

Students may want to brush up on their geography, history and English for “Make the Grade,” a new children’s game show premiering Monday at 6:30 p.m. on Nickelodeon.

Paul Fusco, the co-creator of “ALF,” has concocted a cadre of gargoyles and transformed Rue McClanahan of “The Golden Girls” into an evil witch trying to escape the netherworld in “The Worst Witch,” an NBC special scheduled for telecast later this month.
