A Clarification of Council’s Position
The Venice Town Council wishes to correct the inaccurate reporting about our organization in the Times article “Some of Galanter’s Former Allies Plot Her Overthrow” (Times, Sept. 6), which stated “The Venice Town Council has called for a complete moratorium on building . . .”
The Venice Town Council has asked Councilwoman Ruth Galanter “that there shall be an immediate one-year moratorium on commercial development in Venice and that the city of Los Angeles shall conduct an environmental impact study to determine the capacity of the Venice area to sustain additional commercial growth.” Thank you.
