SEC Wants 2 to Repay Funds: The Securities and Exchange Commission wants two men who had been part of the so-called Yuppie Five insider trading ring to repay illegally obtained funds and penalties. The SEC asked a federal court to order Morton Shapiro of Boston and Daniel Silverman of North Providence, R.I., to pay a total of $167,070 in illegal profits plus interest and $501,210 in penalties. The agency is also asking that the two provide a full account of all profits received as a result of their illegal conduct, according to court papers filed earlier. The action stems from a 1986 case against five professionals who had shared and traded on confidential information.
