Gillette Unveils Razor With Blades Mounted on Springs
From Associated Press
NEW YORK —
Gillette Co., in an effort to improve earnings after recent takeover battles, today unveiled a new razor featuring individual spring-mounted blades.
The company billed the silver and black razor, called Sensor, as the “most revolutionary breakthrough in shaving since Gillette introduced twin-blade shaving 20 years ago.”
The new product will be available to the public in January.
Sensor is similar to Gillette’s Atra brand, which has a pivoting, twin-blade razor head. However, Sensor’s design also enables each spring-cushioned blade to move independently, which Gillette said allows it to hug the skin without digging in.
