Autopsies performed Monday on two bodies found in Leucadia were inconclusive, and additional tests were ordered to determine the cause of death, Deputy County Coroner Penne Hammerstead said.
The decomposed remains of John Michael Flagg, 46, and his mother, Sybil Flagg, 80, were found Sunday in separate areas of the home by investigators, who said the two had been dead several weeks, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said. Officials were notified by neighbors who heard shouting in the home.
Sally Anne Flagg, Sybil Flagg’s daughter, who also lived in the house, was taken to the Hillcrest mental hospital, Lt. John Tenwolde said.
Neighbors said the family kept to themselves and that the back yard and home were filled with trash.
Hammerstead said the cause of the deaths cannot be determined until histology and toxicology tests are completed in two to six weeks.
