Assemblyman Curt Pringle (D-Garden Grove) won a partial victory that will permit him to resume fund raising to pay for his defense in a lawsuit filed by the Hispanic Political Council. Superior Court Judge Dzintra Janavs overturned part of a ruling by the state Fair Political Practices Commission that said money raised by Pringle for the suit was subject to a new state law that prohibits raising money in a year when a candidate’s name is not on a ballot. The suit alleges that some voters were intimidated by uniformed security guards posted by Pringle’s campaign at 20 Santa Ana polling places on Nov. 8.
