To avoid arrests for drunk driving, members of the Theta Xi fraternity at UC Davis have paid more than $300 for a Breathalyzer to measure blood-alcohol levels. Social chairman Mike Benkel said the device is “not a toy” and is meant for education and awareness. Davis Police Cpl. John Wilson said, “It’s kind of nice seeing a fraternity doing something like this. Fraternities don’t have the best reputation here. Over the years, I’ve arrested a lot of frat members for drunken driving.”
