Lakeside
Two Lakeside residents were killed Thursday in Nebraska when their motor home collided with a tractor-trailer rig on Interstate 80, about 50 miles west of Lincoln, Nebraska officials reported.
Authorities identified the dead as Robert Warczak, 63, and his wife, Gladys, who lived in the 9000 block of Harritt Road. The couple died at the scene of the 2 a.m. accident, said Carol Gocke of the York County Sheriff’s Department.
Gocke said the truck, which was traveling east on I-80, struck a disabled vehicle pulling a horse trailer. The large truck then crossed the highway and crashed, blocking the westbound lanes. It was then struck by the Warczaks’ motor home.
The driver of the truck was also killed in the collision, as were four horses, Gocke said.
Passengers in the vehicle with the horse trailer suffered minor injuries, she said.
