Countywide : Many Closures to Mark Columbus Day Monday

Monday is Columbus Day, commemorating the day Christopher Columbus discovered America in 1492. All county, state and federal offices and courthouses will be closed in observance of the holiday.
Banks and savings and loan institutions will also be closed.
All post offices will be closed, and mail deposited in mailboxes will be picked up according to the posted holiday schedule.
The 28 city offices in the county will be open, and regularly scheduled council meetings will be held.
All schools, including colleges and universities, will remain open. City libraries will be open, but all county-run libraries will be closed.
There will be regular trash pickup by city and county refuse workers Monday. Orange County Transit District buses will run on their regular schedule.
Metered parking will be enforced throughout the county. City- and county-operated park and recreation facilities will be open their regular hours.
