Names in the News : 3 N.Y. Teens Arrested in Attack on 3 Jewish College Students

Three teen-agers were arrested today in the beatings of three Jewish college students who said they were jumped by up to 20 youths.

Albert Sorrentino, 18; Joseph Guben, 16, and James Hynes, 17, were charged with assault and civil rights violations in the attack on the Brooklyn College students as they left a party at a Jewish student center early Sunday, police said.

Two victims, Steven Weisburg and Joshua Fogel, remained in hospitals. Weisburg, 19, was in stable condition after removal of his ruptured spleen, and also had a broken leg. Fogel, 19, was in fair condition with a fractured skull. A third student suffered minor injuries when he tried to stop the attack, police said.

The students said they were attacked by 10 to 20 youngsters shouting anti-Semitic slurs.
