“Chuck McCann’s Funstuff,” a two-hour locally-produced daily children’s variety show, will go on hiatus after this morning’s broadcast (7-9 a.m. on Channel 9), while the station ponders its future. A spokesman said Thursday that the station is “definitely committed to having a hosted, local children’s show, but we were not satisfied with what we had.” “Funstuff,” which debuted Sept. 18, featured McCann playing various characters, plus puppets and Walt Disney and Warner Brothers cartoons. Taking its place will be reruns of “Bugs Bunny,” “Daffy Duck,” “Porky Pig” and “Dennis the Menace.”
