WORLD - 253 Italian Terrorists Acquitted
ROME —
A court today found 253 Red Brigade terrorists and other left-wing extremists innocent of charges of waging an armed insurrection against the state.
The acquittals had been expected because of three previous rulings dating back to 1970 when Italian courts refused to accept the legal concept that domestic terrorism amounts to a political attack or the waging of war against the state.
