Hollywood Park Nominates Gamel to Board Positions

Hollywood Park and dissident stockholder Thomas W. Gamel apparently ended their feud Thursday.

Hollywood Park Realty and Hollywood Park Operating Co. have agreed to nominate Gamel to the board of directors of each company, and he has agreed to withdraw the slate of directors he had nominated and will vote his shares for the boards’ nominees.

Gamel, of Denver, has been outspoken in his criticism of Hollywood Park management, particularly of Marje Everett, chairman of the board and chief executive officer, and threatened a proxy fight for control last month.

The agreement prevents Gamel from acquiring additional stock of either of the companies without getting prior approval from them.
